Ol’Dirty Bastard would have turned 53 years old on Monday (November 15). Before his untimely death, ODB was celebrated for his eccentric rap style, becoming a standout member of the Wu-Tang Clan as well as dropping two classic albums with Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version and Nigga Please.

Fellow Wu-Tang member, RZA, is doing everything he can to keep ODB’s name alive. In a recent interview with MIC, RZA spoke about Sasha Jenkins’s documentary Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mice and Men and the hit Hulu series Wu-Tang: An American Saga, confirming a new feature-length Ol’ Dirty Bastard film is in the works.

“The documentary was to capture the story as best we can in the reality of it, and then the TV series was to dramatize it,” he said. “The third tier of the plan, which I’m in progress of, is an ODB movie biopic. Like the five-year Wu-Tang plan, this was a five-year media plan that I concocted, I meditated on, and I’m striving to live out. So far, it’s working well.”

As Wu-Tang: An American Saga comes to a close after announcing its final season. Wu-Tang fans are excited for more content based on the legendary crew’s origin story. Are you excited about the new ODB film? Stay tuned for more on this and other hip-hop news.
