Questlove announced this morning (2/15) the lineup for this years Roots Picnic and from the look of things it will be the biggest and best yet! The now 2-day event will include performances by Mary J Blige with The Roots, Jazmine Sullivan, Kasami Washington, Rick Ross, Benny the Butcher, Jazzy Jeff and Rakim and many more. Questlove posted to his social media “The expansion level of @rootspicnic is crazy. We got lifestyle stages & gaming areas & for the first time a curated food village---stay tuned for more updates and announcements.”
The Roots Picnic, which began in 2008 is an annual music festival created and hosted by The Roots. Past performers include The Black Keys, Kid Cudi, D.J. Jazzy Jeff, Nas, De La Soul and Snoop Dogg. The festival has historically been a 1-day event with the exception of 2012 and 2022.
This years Roots Picnic will take place June 4th and 5th at Philadelphia’s the Mann at Fairmount Park. Early bird tickets are available for $149 for both days with a VIP silver package that includes front pit area access, Acclaim Bar access with drinks & specials, special vip exclusive bathroom area, food vendor offerings and more.
