Pusha T Praises Ukrainian Defense Ministry's "Great Taste" After They Quote His Lyrics

During a briefing on Russian military losses in its ongoing assault on Ukraine, The Ukrainian Defense Ministry recently quoted Pusha T's lyrics.

“I put numbers on the board,” the Defense Ministry tweeted, referencing Pusha's 2013 track “Numbers on the Board” from My Name is My Name. The tweet was highlighting the losses of Russian occupiers in Ukraine over the past six months since Russia launched its attack in February up until September 7.

Pusha T retweeted the post, captioning the reference with, "Great taste in music for the win…"

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry has regularly made American pop culture references when sharing news, from Queen (“I want it all, I want it all, I want it all, I want it now”) and Bananarama (“It’s a cruel, cruel summer”), to the moviesThe Sixth Sense(“I see dead people”), The Big Lebowski (“This aggression will not stand, man”) and Rambo (“They drew first blood, not me”) among others.

For his part, Pusha is no stranger to catching attention in interesting places. Back in June, he got a co-sign from legendary quarterback Tom Brady who posted a video promoting his BRADY Run apparel with Pusha's “Dreamin of the Past” playing in the background, and later declared it was the "album of the year" after Pusha enthusiastically noted the subtle shout-out.
