Longtime fans have been waiting anxiously for a possible Clipse reunion, and Pusha T says he's right there with you. He really wants a Clipse reunion to happen but it's up to his brother, No Malice.
“I push the button every so often,” he said, in a Rolling Stone interview where he admitted he's doing everything in his power to get the duo back together for another project. “I’m like, ‘Yo, listen to what I just made! We can really do this’—and he brushes me off. … If I had it my way, it would be the Clipse. It’s really up to my brother.”
Clipse surprised fans with a reunion at the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards earlier this month. The brothers joined forces once more to deliver a high-energy performance of their signature track, the Neptunes-produced "Grindin'."
While a Clipse reunion is still up in the air, in the meantime, Pusha did confirm that he's working on a new album, a follow-up to this year's acclaimed release It's Almost Dry. At the time the interview was conducted, he was on the way to the studio to link up with Pharrell.
“I don’t wanna give anything away but the giggles are even more evil than they were the last time,” he said of the forthcoming project.
In an interview last month with Spotify, he confirmed he's working on an "extremely special" project. “I’m working on an extremely special project to me right now which I am not going to get into,” the rapper said when asked, “what’s next?” “It’s just all about music and staying competitive and just showing that there is a space for what it is that I do in hip-hop...and that what I do in hip-hop is the most credible space and takes the most talent...and is just… the realest.”
