In 1993 celebrity photographer Al Pereira took a photo of Nas and Tupac together at New York’s Club Amazon that Nas shared to Instagram in 2020. Pereira is now suing Nas for sharing the copyrighted photo without permission. On February 2nd Pereira filed a lawsuit in federal court alleging that Nas not only shared the photo without legal consent, but that he profited from the image by using it to increase his social media status.

Pereira says that he makes his living by licensing photographs and that the picture in question has now depreciated because Nas shared it online.Pereira previously sued Kylie and Kendall Jenner after he charged that they used his picture of Biggie Smalls, Tupac and Redman without his consent.
