Will Kanye West be teaming up with Jordan Brand on a brand new sneaker collaboration? That’s what fans are asking after the Chicago emcee shared an image of the Jumpman logo to his Instagram followers on Friday (January 21).
During Ye’s recent visit to Miami to record music with DJ Khaled, Michal Jordan’s son, Marcus Jordan, hoppd into Khaled’s Instagram comments to propose a meeting between the higher-ups at Yeezy and Jordan brands. “Let’s make that convo happen,” Marcus wrote, tagging Khaled. “Kanye West and pops.”
Ye responded by sharing the official Jordan brand logo along with a screenshot of Marcus’ proposal, captioning the post with the side-eye emoji.
Known for his love of Air Jordans prior to launching his Yeezy label with Adidas, Kanye had a change of heart at the end of 2015 with his single “Facts” when he infamously proclaimed “Yeezy just jumped over Jumpman.” The backpedal started quickly, and by February 2016 West was apologizing to Jordan on Twitter. “I’m sorry, Michael Jordan. I love and respect you,” West wrote. “My beef was with [former Nike CEO] Mark Parker. I respect you so much!”
Do you think Ye’s year-long beef with Jordan brand is finally over? Will we be getting a Yeezy x Jordan collaboration in the near future? Stay tuned for updates on this and other hip-hop news.
