LL COOL J is nothing short of legendary, the recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee has been honored for his countless contributions to hip-hop music and popular culture throughout his prolific career spanning over 30 years. 

Recently, the Queens emcee was honored in his hometown of Queens with a public sculpture honoring the emcee in his home park, Corona Park. The piece was created by NYC artist Sherwin Banfield, featuring a young LL COOL J wearing his iconic Kangol hat with a Boombox Soundsystem body holding a cassette tape of his debut studio album, Radio. 

“Anything is possible. ✊🏾🌹 Statue of me in Corona Park, Queens by the talented @sherwintheartist,” LL captioned his Instagram post. 

“A Sculptural Sonic Monument dedicated to the legacy of Queens Hip-Hop legend @llcoolj ,” wrote Banfield. “His native Queens, NY and historical performances at Flushing Meadows Corona Park. This Monument is also known as The G.O.A.T. Monument🐐.”

The multi-media art installation is made of bronze, resin, stainless steel, Steel, winter stone, wood, audio, lighting & solar system and will live in Corona Park until November 2022.
