Mantronix and Just Ice ushered in a drum machine heavy, hardcore sound in the mid 1980's, defining an era with their Sleeping Bag/Fresh Records string of releases. Mantronix, which consisted of Kurtis Mantronik and MC Tee released classics such as "Fresh Is The Word", "Needle To The Groove", "Bassline", and "Ladies". As a producer Mantronik redefined drum machine programming with his collaborations with label mates T La Rock, Tricky Tee, Just Ice, Nocera, Joyce Simms, and Hanson & Davis.
Justice's debut album, Back To The Old School showcased his raw and energetic flow, as well as his commanding voice on classics such as "Cold Gettin' Dumb", "Put That Record Back On", "Latoya", "Turbo Charged", and "Gangster Of Hip-Hop". Just Ice went on to release the critically acclaimed Kool & Deadly and The Desolate One, while Kurtis Mantronik found further success in dance and electronic music, before taking a break from the industry.
"A Long Time" will be available on all streaming platforms, and the exclusive interview with Rock The Bells is coming soon.
