On the heels of selling his half of masters for $350 million, Murder Inc. founder Irv Gotti has made another major business move, signing a multi-year distribution deal with 300 Elektra Entertainment, Billboard reports.
Moving forward, 300 Entertainment (3EE), which is headed by Kevin Liles, will exclusively distribute physical and digital formats of all Murder Inc. records, though Gotti will maintain ownership of the label's masters. Gotti previously worked with Liles while he was president of UMG/Def Jam.
“I’m excited to join forces with Kevin Liles again, as we take it back to our roots, where we generated over a billion dollars in revenue at Universal Music Group,” Gotti said. “I look to continue to build our legacy together and foster a new generation of artists and timeless music.”
In late June, it was announced Gotti had sold half his masters to Universal Music Group for $100 million in a deal that also included him receiving a $200 million line of credit for future endeavors in TV and film.
