Funkmaster Flex Premieres Unreleased DMX Song

In response to Funkmaster Flex's ever-popular new song challenge, producer Swizz Beatz dug into the vaults and handed over an unreleased DMX song that Flex premiered on Thursday night (9/8).

After premiering Raekwon and Ghostface Killah's response song last week, Flex declared, "Raekwon Ghostface challenge complete, but I have one more challenge. I was told somethin' — a little birdie told me. I heard that there are several unreleased, never coming out DMX songs. Swizz Beatz does not know that I know."

He then challenged Swizz to get him one of the unreleased songs within six days.

The unreleased song is musically an instrumental of 1988's Marley Marl produced "Ain't No Half Steppin" by Big Daddy Kane with DMX rhyming in a different cadence than we usually heard from him. Flex made sure to let everyone know the song is unreleased, with no date for when it might drop.

Swizz Beatz previously discussed DMX's unreleased music with The Breakfast Club. "He's got a lot of music," he explained. "But for me, it's like he worked so hard on this record, I don't wanna tamper with unless it can be better. Even with the footage — we were in the process of making the album and we could've been putting footage out, but I'm like, 'Let's do something masterful with it.'"
