Ahead of his upcoming album, Soul Sold Separately, Freddie Gibbs has dropped a new single, this one produced by James Blake, "Dark Hearted."

On this one, Freddie talks about life in Gary, Indiana, highlighting the stark realities faced by the city, and pointing to how racism affects so many of America's urban hubs. “Police might shoot me and kill me over my dark skin,” he raps on the somber track.

Freddie's anticipated new album follows his much-acclaimed, Grammy-nominated 2020 project with Alchemist, Alfredo. Since the release of Alfredo, Freddie's dropped a string of singles including "Street Made" with Scarface, "Gang Signs" with Schoolboy Q, "Black Illuminati" with Jadakiss, and "Ice Cream" with Rick Ross.

Earlier this week, he shared the tracklisting Soul Sold Separately. Among the features are Rick Ross, Anderson.Paak, Raekwon, and Scarface. Soul singers Kelly Price and Musiq Soulchild also show up on the project. He previously dropped a casino-themed video for the album's lead single, "Too Much" featuring Moneybagg Yo.

"Dark Hearted" is available to stream now. The new album arrives Sept. 30.
