In an exclusive interview with Rock The Bells, Fat Joe detailed his plans for making music — namely, that he doesn't plan to any time soon, anyway.
"I don’t think I’m making music no time soon," he said. "It’s just focusing on media, TV and opening businesses. I have a lot of investments I’ve been doing and I’m looking forward to growing as an entrepreneur."
At that point, Remy Ma, who's worked with Joe for years, laughingly chimed in to say that in other words, Joe is doing great making money outside of the music world. While he may not have plans to release an album, fans can still catch Joe on stage later this year. He's set to star in a one-man stand-up show. The theatrical experience is based on his upcoming memoir,The Book of Jose, and will include unfiltered, never-before-heard anecdotes about the rapper's life and career – from the time he spent in prison a decade ago to that time he was kidnapped in Angola, Africa.
“The world will be getting Fat Joe at his most authentic, vulnerable, and comedic self on that stage,” Joe said in a press release. “I’m not holding anything back. I’ve always taken pride in my storytelling, but we’re about to take it to the next level."
