Diamond D continues to be one of the busiest men in Hip-Hop. Today (2/28), the DJ, MC and producer dropped "The Wrong Thing," the fourth video from last year's full-length album The Rear View.

"The Wrong Thing" is the story of a man who mistreats his lady and ends up regretting it later. "On my heels like Elliot Ness/you was cold potato salad from a deli at best," Diamond spits.

The mid-tempo track featuring Ashtin Martin on the hook features Diamond's signature production including hard-hitting drums and a bouncy synth bassline. The video features Diamond confessing in the club (with cameos from collaborator singer Stacey Epps and Atlanta-based rapper/DJ Dylan), with a side story featuring a couple enjoying better times.

Elsewhere, Ashtin sings, "I did the wrong thing and I won't keep it to myself I'll tell it to the world I did you wrong babe/ I was dancin to the beat of my own drum girl I had my own swing/I put that on my life I'm tryin to do right 'cus I'm tired of doin' the wrong thing."

I'm still sample-based, but I use live musicianship to give the songs a BIG feel.

Diamond has also released videos for "Life Is What You Make It," "The Scorn" and "LIve My Life" all from The Rear View. In an exclusive interview with ROCK THE BELLS, Diamond reminded us that he is "one of the few producers who writes his own shit," and he says that the slower tempo and laid-back feel on the project allowed his lyrics to be heard fully — something that he finds extremely important.

"The slower tempo of the songs was not intentional," Diamond shared. "I actually recorded more songs than those that made the final cut, but I wanted my vocals to shine through and be heard clearly. In hindsight, that may have been a premise for the laid-back feel of some of the songs."
