Today is a big voting day in Georgia, but really for the country as democrat Raphael Warnock and republican Herschel Walker face each other in a run-off for a senate seat.
In 2020, Warnock became the first Black senator from Georgia when he won the election runoff that helped Democrats win control of the Senate, and this go-around, the vote is just as historic. Whoever wins will be the first Black person elected from Georgia to a full Senate term.
The ever-politically and socially active Hip-Hop legend Chuck D voiced an urgent call for Georgians to head to the polls today, to ensure Warnock pulls off the win.
"Forget Deion going to Colorado ... don't let Herschel go to Washington DC," said in one post, referencing former NFL receiver-turned-HBCU head coach Deion Sanders' recent announcement that he's leaving Jackson State to coach at Colorado University.
In another post, Chuck directly urged Georgians to go vote, captioning a post with, "This is not a game. Please vote."
