Bun B and Cory Mo shared the new video for their song "The Geto" featuring fellow Houston legend Z-Ro, which is featured on their collaborative album, Mo' Trill, which dropped earlier this year.
The video, directed by Orbit Didit Films, centers Z-Ro and Bun as they take a stroll through Houston's Garden City Apartments, rapping about the effects of poverty and lack of opportunity on communities. They also highlight the impact of unjust policing.
“Watch yourself around here, they’ll kill ya, bro! / Biggest gang ’round here is the HPD,” Z-Ro warns on the track, which was produced by Cory Mo and Ray Murray of Organized Noize. Bun focuses on the impact of incarceration on families. “And young girls gettin’ pregnant by grown-ass men / ‘Cause they daddies locked up, doing time in the pen,” he rhymes.
Cory told Rock The Bells how the song came about. "Bun's wife called me one day and said I should redo Too Short's song 'The Ghetto' for Bun," the producer recalled. "So I did, and sent it to Z-Ro for the hook and he kilt it. So I took out the sample and called Ray Murray to help me put that gritty dirty southern sound on it, and magic was made."
Previously, Cory and Bun share the video for "Feel Good" featuring Devin The Dude. Mo' Trill is available now and features 2 Chainz, Wale, CeeLo Green, Big K.R.I.T., Talib Kweli, Benny The Butcher, Tobe Nwigwe, Larry June, David Banner, Jazze Pha, Slim Thug, Lil Keke, Trae The Truth, Raheem DeVaughn, and more.
