Black Thought has won Grammy Awards previously for "You Got Me", "Hang On in There" and "Wake Up!" with The Roots and his work on the Hamilton soundtrack.
In other Black Thought news, his memoir "The Upcycled Self" is due for release on 11/14. In it, he tells the story of the four relationships that shaped him — community, art, friends and family. These relationships are communicated via vivid vignettes that detail the love, discovery, trauma and loss according to the book's website. "His story begins with a tragedy," the website states. "As a child Trotter burned down his family's home. The years that followed are the story of a life snatched from the flames, forged in fire."
