Black Star (Yasiin Bey and Talib Kweli) shared a video for their Madlib-produced song "So Be It," directed by Chino Chase. The video features clips of them hanging out with everyone from legendary producer/bassist/singer Raphael Saadiq and acclaimed pianist/producer Robert Glasper to Conway and Pharoahe Monch, interspersed with shots of their dynamic live show (seriously, if you've never seen Black Star live, you're missing out).

"The visuals that accompany it are simple, but strong," they said of the video in a statement. "Our value is in our performance and how we connect with our audience. We wanted to provide a visual that showcases that for the core fans."

Last weekend (Nov. 12), they appeared on SNL with Dave Chappelle — a big feat for a completely independent rap group, which they pointed out. "I'm a fan of comedy and I grew up on SNL so this is a career milestone for sure," they said. "I can't recall seeing a more hip-hop, a more independent group than Black Star to ever do SNL, so I'm definitely excited to represent for the culture."

"So Be It" is featured on their latest project, No Fear Of Time, available exclusively on the Luminary platform. "So Be It" was one of the first songs Black Star recorded with Madlib for No Fear Of Time so it definitely set the tone of the project early on," they said. "The song is a lyrical exercise, bars on bars, but we are not rhyming for the sake of riddling as the great Chuck D might say. This song is a call to action. It's a prayer. It's a manifesto."
