Big Daddy Kane and Treach Clown Around Rehearsing 'New Jack City'

Big Daddy Kane and Treach Are Having a Great Time Rehearsing for 'New Jack City'

Big Daddy Kane and Treach are rehearsing for their upcoming roles in the anticipated stage play version of New Jack City, and they're clearly having a really good time together.

Kane recently shared a behind-the-scenes clip of them laughing backstage with Vincent M. Ward, the actor who plays Duh Duh Duh Man.

Allen Payne will be reprising his role from the film, as "Gee Money," Treach will star as "Nino Brown," Big Daddy Kane will play "Stone" and actor Flex Alexander will play "Pookie."

In the years since it was released, New Jack City has been deemed a classic, ushering in a wave of thoughtful films about the infiltration of drugs into Black communities, and birthing a wave of pop culture sayings and references. In addition to Payne and director Mario Van Peebles, the movie also starred Ice-T, Wesley Snipes, Christopher Williams, Judd Nelson, Chris Rock, Bill Nunn and Vanessa Williams.

A stage adaptation of the classic film had been rumored for years, and back in September, Kane confirmed that it was officially in the works.

The New Jack City stage play will hit several cities including Atlanta, LA, Washington D.C., Baltimore, and Detroit among others. The run will kick off in Philadelphia on Nov. 4. Tickets are available now.
