B.G. of the Hot Boys Denied Early Prison Release

B.G. of The Hot Boys has been denied an early release from prison again, according to VladTV.

B.G. (Christopher Dorsey) penned a handwritten letter for compassionate release on June 28, which District Judge Susie Morgan of New Orleans denied. Birdman, Slim, Wendy Day and Gary Payton Sr. submitted support letters which were all denied as well. In her decision, Morgan wrote: "Dorsey complains of an outbreak of COVID-19 cases at his facility, but BOP's website currently lists zero positive cases among inmates out of a total population of 960 and one positive case among staff."

B.G. is in prison due to his 2009 arrest after a routine traffic stop in New Orleans where police found several weapons, loaded magazines and illegal drugs. In 2012, he was sentenced to 14 years on gun possession and charges of witness tampering. B.G. rose to prominence in the late 1990s as part of the independent New Orleans Ca$H Money record label. He is widely credited as the originator of the term "bling" — the term was such a huge part of popular culture that it was added to the Oxford dictionary in 2003.
