'Atlanta' Remembers Its Best Moments in Twisty Season 4 Teaser

The new teaser for the fourth and final season of Donald Glover's Emmy-winning series Atlanta just dropped today (July 22). As with the teasers for previous seasons, it's psychedelic and cool. Earn (Glover) and Van (Zazie Beetz) make their way into a convenience store as particles float in the air Upside Down-style, along with other items.

When they come out, they're greeted by memorable markers from previous seasons, including Darius (Lakeith Stanfield) pulling up in an invisible car (“The Club,” season 1), a piano falling part (“Teddy Perkins," season 2), an ostrich cracking out of an egg (“Teddy Perkins," season 2), an alligator crawling up a wall (“Alligator Man,” season 2) and a morphing tree (see season 1 and "The Old Man and the Tree," Season 3). Al/Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry) strolls up and drops the mic as the foursome disappears.

While Atlanta's most recent season pulled viewers in different directions — some loved it, some didn't dig the main four characters trekking around Europe instead of their home base of Atlanta, or the anthology-style episodes that often centered on white characters while exploring various themes of racism — the show remained an Emmy favorite. This season, the series racked up several nominations again, including for Glover who was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy. The show was also rightly nominated for Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series (Half-Hour) and Outstanding Directing For A Comedy Series.

Atlanta season 4 premiers in September on FX.
