Lupe Fiasco is celebrating Halloween and JAY-Z’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by releasing a new freestyle over JAY-Z’s “Hovi Baby,” instrumental.

On Monday (November 1), The Chicago emcee dropped a 2-minute freestyle titled “Not a Costume,” where he spits over Just Blaze’s 2002 beat from The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Course.

“I went to Halloween as a vaccinated person,” he raps. “Boo, beware of the n-ggas from the West/Might scare a n-gga to death, bless/Might just impair a n-gga for reck.”

Fiasco co-produced JAY’s “Hovi Baby” years before releasing his own music. According to a tweet posted by Just Blaze in 2016, Lupe laid down all of the drums heard on the record. “FWIW, @lupefiasco played all the drums on ‘Hovi Baby,’

JAY-Z executive produced Lupe Fiasco’s debut 2006 album Food & Liquor and featured on the song “Pressure.” Hov also played a crucial role in Lupe’s signing to Atlantic Records.
